Future Beginnings is a place where children’s safety comes first. We support parents and carers through the assessment to help inform decisions about any long-term living arrangements for the children and their families. We offer a caring and nurturing environment where children flourish, and parents and carers are supported not judged.
Staff at Future Beginnings have been recruited because of the varied knowledge, skills and abilities they bring to the provision. The Senior Leadership team comes with a wealth of knowledge and experiences that individually are exceptional but together will ensure that the quality of this provision is of an outstanding nature.
Our staff team is made up of compassionate, dedicated, highly qualified professionals, who are committed to making a difference in the lives of children and their families. We boast a diverse range of expertise and experiences and work together to provide the best possible parenting assessments and interventions
Our resident qualified Social Worker has over 12 years’ experience of working within a social care arena and holds a breadth of knowledge of child protection processes. He is well placed to ensure assessments are of quality and have their foundations within the recognised ‘Framework for Assessment’.
Our in-house comprehensive parenting programme uses this as a basis for the 12 -13 week programme.
The Social Worker and the family support team are trained in‘Parent Assess’ which has been used successfully in courts since 2017. It is particularly recognised as an assessment tool for working with parents who may present with learning difficulties.
The programme explores 5 key areas:-
1. The child’s experience of being parented
.2. Specific issues such as, domestic abuse, alcohol dependency, drug use, offending and gambling.
3. Parental Functioning
4.Parent/carer’s daily living skills
5. Support available and the ability to access the support.
Staff are trained in the Solihull approach, and this is embedded as a golden thread throughout all our services. We are flexible in our delivery and believe that one package does not suit all. As an independent provision we can offer packages that are extremely individualised to meet the unique needs of each family. We aim to work closely with the referring agency in ensuring any services we offer for the family meets the expectations of their care plan and is designed with any court instructions as paramount.
As we are a newly established and registered provision, we do not have an Ofsted grading as yet. However, our Senior Leadership Team and Directors have a history of providing relevant services that have been through the Ofsted process of inspection and we have evidence of some of the outcomes from these. We also have feedback from some of the professionals that we have worked with in providing assessments for families within Future Beginnings.
